Evening out

When I was child, I always enjoyed my time with friends such as playing sports, staying at their house and watching cartoons with them. However, as I have grown up, there is no longer time to have fun in the evenings. I have begun to study hard for my career. When I lived in Korea, I usually studied from 7 AM to 11 PM; however, now that I moved to the United States, I do not study as much as I did in Korea but there is still no time to chill in the evenings. If I could spend a perfect evening out, I would want to hang out with my best friends from Korea and stay a few hours in Nashville, Tennessee. Also, I heard Nashville has many fun places to go to, so It would be a fun place for me and my friends. Although it may seem very simple, this is the most practical thing I can do right now, since Nashville is close to the Webb School, and it is therefore, possible for me to go during the evening.

Spring is nature's way of saying let's party

“Spring is nature's way of saying, ‘let's party!’” means that Spring is the best time to have party.  This quote is from actor Robin Williams and I agree with him because of spring’s mild weather. Other seasons also can be enjoyed to party but it does not compare to spring  During the summer, It is really hot so people would not stay outside long time. In fall, people can enjoy party outside but fall is cold and it is gloomy. So it does not best for party. In winter, most animals such as bears and snakes hibernate during the winter and it snows a lot so people usually stay inside. So it is hard to enjoy party with nature. However, in the spring, weather is nice so people prefer to go outside. The grass, trees ,and flowers begin to grow so the background of outside in spring is really pretty. I also like other seasons but spring is my favorite season because it is mild weather and my birthday is in the spring.

According to the “The English Watermelon”. “Dressed for Success” means something different to each person. I have heard this saying before. This definition of “Dressed for Success” is not the same as my definition of “Dressed for Success.” I believe Dressed for Success means dressing with more effort than they usual on a normal day. On March 4, 2015, when I was studying at South Kent, the school’s headmaster invited me to dinner with his family. I wanted to make a memorable impression, so I planned to wear a suit because I had learned if people wear suits, then people look more gentle. It is much cooler than when people wear shirts and pants. While I was wearing a suit, my roommate came into room and said, “You look dressed for success.” I did not know what he was talking about, so I asked him and he told me that means you look more gentle and cool. After that, I have started to say that to people who look really nice.

Cupid

When I was younger, my grandmother told me that people are able to fall in love with others because of Cupid. She told me that Cupid’s arrow makes people fall in love. I thought she was lying to me, but today I realized that Cupid really exists in the world. I began to believe in Cupid because I saw Cupid at Webb School today.

I was walking on the street and saw a strange man. This person was really different from other people. He had pink hair, wore a pink shirt and carried an arrow. In the beginning, I guessed that he was a crazy man, but later, I realized that he was the real Cupid because when he released arrows at people. They fell in love with each other. Suddenly, Cupid looked at me and shot an arrow at me. I was embarrassed, so I just dodged the arrow. Unfortunately, Seongmin was shot by the arrow instead of me while he was walking down the street. He suddenly ran off of me street and hugged a tree. I did not understand why he hugged the tree. Cupid explained that happens if people get shot by his arrow, then people fall in love with someone or something they first see. Seongmin first  saw a tree,  so he fell in love with the tree. I was really mad at Cupid, but he only said sorry and disappeared. Fortunately, Seongmin went back to normal after Cupid left.

After this, I realized that Cupid really exists in the world and want to tell to my readers to be careful of Cupid!! Cupid might be near you.

There are so many famous people who had achieved great things in their lives. It would be nice if I could meet as many as possible. However, If I could meet only one person, then I would like to meet PSY, from South Korea, my home country. I have two reasons  why I would like to meet him. First, I easily made Canadian friends because of PSY. When I was studying in Canada, it was January 5th, 2012, which was my first time studying in another country, so I was nervous and worried as to how I could live there. Surprisingly, Gangnam style, a song from PSY’s 7th album, was popular during that time so many Canadians tried to ask about Gangnam style after they realized that I was from South Korea. Therefore, I was able to make a lot of friends. If PSY did not come out with this song, then I might’ve had a harder time meeting people. Second, PSY’s English ability helped me to realize why I must study English. It was October 3rd, 2012, which was first time studying in the USA. During that  time, I felt homesick so I really missed my family and friends and I questioned why I was learning English. However, I watched PSY’s interview on The Jonathan Ross Show on Youtube. PSY spoke English very well and many people laughed at his jokes.  After I saw his interview, I was impressed that a non-native Speaker speaks English on a famous American TV show and it looked awesome and respectful. I began to study English harder than I previously did so it can improve my English skills. If I could meet PSY, then I will say thanks to him because if was not popular in the world then I might not study in the States. I hope that he makes more popular songs such as Gangnam style.

What is your favorite thing about yourself? Explain your favorite trait and why you like this about yourself.

I have many favorite things I like about myself. First, my favorite thing about myself is that I am kind. I love to help others, such as: with homework. I like my sociability, so I make friends easily. Right now, I have many friends at Webb. One of my favorite skills is how fast I can memorize when I study. I usually finish preparing to study for subject like  history and English earlier than other classmates. I do not have professional sports skills, but I am good at most sports such as: soccer, baseball, basketball, table tennis and tennis. Also because of Korean culture, I have learned to respect  older people. I really respect my teachers. Many teacher trust and like me. Especially, Mrs. Berzinskas, my favorite teacher, said that she likes my kindness. Many friends tell me their secrets because they know that I do not tell their secrets to others. Finally, the most favorite thing about myself is self-sufficiency. I always try to find own my way, take care of myself and build for my future life. My favorite things are kindness, sociability, memorization, good sports skills, respect of others, keeping  secrets, and self- sufficiency.
